we've gone primal.

i love the optimism a new year brings.
*luckily, being jewish, i get 2 new years!
jimbo & i are very excited for a fresh & exciting 2012.
we really love our crossfit gym, cfsq and are feeling really good & strong.
cfsq is going to start a 30 day paleo challenge in a few weeks 
and slim & i are game! there's a cash prize for the most paleo-tastic.
we've actually already started, and it's been interesting and salad-rific....
paleo is basically
1. meat & fish
2. fruits & vegetables
3. nuts & berries
this is for sure an odd diet for me- i've been a vegetarian since i was a
sophomore in high school (a gruesome peta video did it for me) & didn't plan
on bringing meat into my diet, but this diet really intrigued me.
we're being very selective with our meat (except for the 2 visits to chick-fil-a last month)
and buying chicken and eggs that are local, cage free and blah blah blah.
paleo=caveman/cavewoman diet.
i am really looking forward to this challenge... 
no sugar, chocolate, gluten, wheat, rice, white potatoes.
what will i miss the most?
french vanilla coffee creamer, kit kats, veggie subway sandy, brown rice,
delights ice cream, luna bars, bbq baked lays, cori's candy bowl,
veggie corn dogs, veggie burgers, tofu, cookies, root beer, yogurt, granola,
 honey, toasted pb & j, cereal, oatmeal, mcdowell's sundaes, etc.....   
this cavegirl is in it to win it!
