it's been a very festive holiday season.

hanukkah was great, and my mom killed it in the latke dept.

i celebrate christmas with jim & his family and it's always really

nice and exciting and filled with family goodness & love.

i started off my winter vaca with a hardcore

crossfit partner workout on xmas eve.

*my 1st time @crossfit without slim...independent woman!

yorkshire pudding by lana

we're down on the farm- bring on the butter. our friend ray's mom, lana is here and she's tons of fun. checkout her fabulous yorkshire pudding.

2 cups milk
2 cups flour
4 eggs
1/2 tsp salt
butter to cover the bottom of the pan

heat butter in bottom of pie plate in 425 oven for a few minutes, until melted.
mix together eggs, salt, milk & flour last. whisk until mixed.
pour into melted butter pie plate & bake in 400 degree oven for 30 minutes.

we went on a xmas eve hike with the super cute 

mcwhirter family this afternoon.

hope looks just like her momma and has the

this is our on-call phone.
(fyi: slim is an old school nokia fan)
i'm on-call once a month for a week.
it pays a little extra & it's totally worth it as long as no one calls. this week only two people called... and they were both other clinicians, with questions- so far so good!

quick tip: to keep shoes that you wear without socks smelling fresh- put a dryer sheet in them.
so fresh & so clean clean.

all in a day.

today was a busy day.

after crossfit jim & i went to whole foods for dinner.

i couldn't resist this egg nog- it's my 1st of the season.

slim found the treats!

egg nog & ferrero rocher for dessert.

i hung some laundry.

does laundry dry outside when it's cold? let's hope so.

i mastered crow in yoga today & even got side crow.

it's just the little things sometimes:)

we had a great workout- i got a few 90lb front squats (pr!)

*that's how i rationalized the egg nog & chocolates...

my favorite part of kettle bell training is how colorful they are.

all in all, a good monday.

our nephew owen turned 4 on the 18th!

i made him this 4 shirt.

he wasn't that into it at first...

owen & lea played on the swings- it was too cold for me.

i warned owen that if he wasn't careful,

he'd turn into inside-out boy!

slim got into the party spirit.

pro-baby holder lea got to work right away.

she was rockin' a baby-bjorn for a bit- it was precious.

wow. we really have made this the season of consumerism and massive consumption. there's so much more to chanukah & christmas than material gifts... I'm vowing to make changes this year.
