we celebrated rosh hashanah, the jewish new year

and my mom made this amazing challah.

we attended services at congregation bet haverim.

all that was missing in this sister sandwich was caracaracara.

owen's baby brother has arrived.

oliver came into the world today, september 15, 2011

weighing in at 8 1/2lbs & 21 inches long.

 

oliver's uncle & aunt couldn't be prouder or more excited.

 i painted my nails red just for oliver!

he slept a lot. 

he is so, so sweet & tiny.

 oliver's first monogrammed item...more to come soon.

 oliver is a burping champ- matthew is too!

i love the tiny white northside hospital t-shirt.

today was a great day.

the wind had a calm breeze & the evening brought a slight chill.

we can't wait to tell oliver all about the day he was born

and how perfect it was.

oliver is a handsome & healthy baby boy.

we love him so much already!

boot turns 70

boot hunt turned 70 on friday!

we ate, we sang, we loved and we celebrated

boot and all his awesomeness.

i made a cornbread casserole. it was a hit.

sue made boot's favorite vanilla cake with fudge gauche frosting.

we made cupcakes too.

and we had an ice cream sundae bar:

heath bar pieces, crumbled oreos, m&m's, walnuts and sprinkles,

chocolate syrup and whip cream.

tom gave my dad a play by play on some amazing play

from back in the day.

70 is the new 40, so we went with black & white decor.

the kiddos were tearin it up in the buckert's fabulous new basement.

owen has the coolest playroom and the tile floor is perfect.

everything matt & sue picked out is just beautiful.

charlie and claire really liked the horsey.

here's the sweet note boot wrote on the ice cream sundae table.

it was a super sweet shout-out to everyone.

slim & his sisters made the most amazing photobook of childhood photos.

boot loved it so much. everyone cried.

hope your 70th year is your best yet, boot!

baby buckert celebration.

i threw a baby shower for my sis-in-law, susan.

sue's due on september 27th

just a few days after jim & i's 1 year anniversary!

her bun in the oven, oliver thomas gets hiccups a lot.

at first when i touched her belly i thought the lil man was kicking, but it was hiccups!

a few notes for oliver's baby book.

lea baked an amazing red velvet cake

with a whale to match the invite- amazing!

my ma-in-law carolyn made some delicious quiches

and it was her birthday....

...so my mom baked carolyn's favorite-

carrot cake w/ cream cheese icing. yum.

claire & heather were our special guests from boston!

claire is just too cute.

all i want to do is hug and kiss her!

claire helped her aunt sue open all of the gifts

and kept reminding sue that she has a baby boy in her belly.

*it was very cute until she pointed to my belly and said baby.

it was a party weekend w/ lots of treats... thanks claire.

jimbo & i are so excited to have another amazing nephew.

if oliver is anything like his big bro owen- he's going to be

handsome, smart, fun, super sweet and hilarious!
