13.5, finally.

the crossfit open has come to an end.
we completed the last workout on saturday & then
celebrated with a bbq party!
the workout was thrusters w/ 65# & chest 2 bar pull-ups,
15 of each, amrap for 4 minutes.
no one at our gym did, but if you got 90 total reps
 you got a bonus 4 minutes to get 90 more, and so on.
i got 15 thrusters & 9 pull-ups.
my goal was 2 pull-ups, so i'm feeling good!
although i forgot to enter my score, so that sucks.

13.4.

we did the 2nd to last crossfit open wod last saturday,
the morning after tara's wedding...
13.4:
amrap for 7 minutes
3 clean + jerks
3 toes to bar
6 clean + jerks
6 toes to bar
and the ladder continues 9, 12, 15...
with 95lbs for ladies & 135lbs for gents.
i got 25 reps.

the open show.

the final workout in the open comes out tonight.
i've had a blast doing these workouts, but am
really looking forward to getting back on my regular 
workout schedule. this brought some inspiration:

13.3

i completed 13.3 this morning at 6am.
the workout was:
150 wall balls 14#/20#
90 double unders
30 muscle ups.
this was a repeat workout from last year.
i could remember doing it last year and hating it,
not even able to get through the wall balls...
well, history repeated itself and i only got 124 reps.
i honestly tried my hardest & am trying to be proud of myself.
it was a different/quiet/low energy vibe with the 6am crew.
i love my 5pm crazies!

13.2

the second open workout consisted of
as many reps/rounds as possible (amrap) in 10 minutes of:
5 shoulder to overhead presses w/ 75lbs
10 deadlifts w/ 75lbs
15 box jumps on a 20" box.

i had to do it during class on thursday and scored
(what i think is) a respectable 205.
looking forward to the 13.3 announcement tonight at 8,
then i'm going in tomorrow at 6am to get it done
because we're heading to chattanooga this weekend for
our 4th rock/creek river gorge trail race!
your good vibes & luck are welcome! 

13.1 recap

i've been a busy bee lately & the cf open wod's
have been intense & have left me in pain.
in the first workout, 13.1 i surprised myself & got a 105,
which means i somehow got the 75# bar over my head in a snatch.
the 1st 40 burpees were ok, but really left me gasping for air.
the first set of 30 snatches with 45# was pretty easy, but after
a few they get tough.
the set up on my second set of snatches, after 30 more burpees.
the struggle.
victory!
the baby beat me by a few reps....
i am so very proud of her!

cfg 12.5

the crossfit games open has come to an end.
it was challenging and fun & i'm happy i did it.
the last workout was a combo of thrusters & chest to bars.
women thrusted with 65lbs & men used 125lbs.
good thing we've been working on our cleans in class.
65lbs is do-able for me, but tough...
my shoulder is still sore from the last cfg wod.
one of my goals has been to get a few strict pull ups.
i wiggeled a bit....
i was able to get 4 chest to bars
and 9 thrusters for a total of 13.
i know i'm getting stronger everyday!

cfg wod 3

the crossfit games open is rolling along.
this weeks workout was:
for 18 minutes, get as many rounds as possible of
15 box jumps
12 push press's w/ f: 75lbs/m: 125
9 toes to bars.
starting off, the box jumps were pretty easy...
as i went on they got increasingly more difficult.
i fell twice. 
two box molly is my new nickname. fabulous.
as i moved onto the push press
i instantly felt a pain in my shoulder.
i should have stopped, but i wanted to keep going- so i did.
jim's back there watching me...nervously. 
75 pounds is a lot from me to get over my head.
i got it. it wasn't always pretty- but i got it up there!
toes to bars was tiring. 
my arms were so tired after the push presses.
i managed to get 3 whole rounds plus a set of
box jumps & one push press. my score was 124.
everyone did such a great job! go team go!

cfg wod 2.

the crossfit games open has been fun.
the 2nd workout was very challenging.
i set my goal & met it, but i wish i was able to do more.
workout 2 was: as many reps as possible in 10 minutes of:
snatches!

30 snatches (m 75/ f 45lb)
30 snatches (m 135/ f 75lb)
30 snatches (m165/ f 100lb)
max rep snatches (m 210/ f 120lb)
the athlete must complete all reps at the first weight
 before advancing to the next weight. 
score is total reps completed in 10min.

as part of my warm up i like to douse myself in chalk
and use it as war paint.
45lb set up. wide grip & covered thumbs.
and i did 30 snatches.

morgan got a bunch of 100lb snatches-..
but then forgot to record her score:(
greg's snatches got nothing on his tube socks.
greg did a really, really good job.
ivy is absolutely amazing...

perkins, not terkins.

our ivy's last name is perkins not terkins.
she said there will be burpees for any jokesters that call her terkins.
no jokes from this kid- i met my yearly quota of burpees on saturday.
