i re-fell in love with mountain biking yesterday.

slim got our mountain bikes spruced up and we hit the

sope creek trails. home sweet home.

we had so much fun.

mountain biking is so crazy and fast and scary.

4th of july.

we spent the 4th of july with the hasbroucks & buckerts.

lil' oliver is getting so big.

he's pulling up and exploring nonstop.

he's looking more like boot & slim everyday!

the buckert's do sparklers.

owen loved the sparklers.

we also played with water balloons, bubbles

and owen gave his aunt sarah a stern warning about smoking.

my parents rented a beautiful cabin in blue ridge, ga

last week for a whole week. they really enjoyed themselves

and then invited lea, slim & i up to join them for a few days.

we went up and had a great time....  

mom worked on her painting.

we played bananagrams.

*i won twice.

we napped.

i pained lea's silhouette.

we got in the hot tub in 100 degree weather.

*not recommended.

slim & dad played pingpong.

and then...

i hear lea scream and look out the window and see my dad laying

at the bottom of the hill.

mom had fallen down a steep hill while walking stella and broke her ankle.

dad saw that she had fallen and went running to help.

i think he started off a bit too fast....

and he went tumbling after.

we called 911 and it took more than 30 minutes and

slim running around the mountains to redirect the ambulance

to our cabin. they loaded mom up and took her to the er...

there we heard the awful news that mom had a 

"nasty break" and needed surgery.

mom also failed her crutches test.

i'm not sure why lea was smiling? how rude.

we had to wait a week for all the swelling to

go down for them to operate, but here's mom's leg

with a metal plate & pins.

the surgeon signed his fancy work.

 here's to a speedy recover mom! xo

my beautiful sister is 30 today!

cara is an amazing advocate, riot grrrrl & counselor.

she's wicked smart, ridiculously silly & fun

and is a great friend, daughter and sister.

she is also a cat lady and

mom to my nephews jc & reuven.  

cara and her sweet man, ned.

they're celebrating their one year anniversary

in nyc this weekend- happy happy happy.
