it was the most exciting show i've ever seen.

our seats were way way up, but it

didn't matter! there was a lot of photos & videos

of cher's career & it was just perfect!

she sang some sonny & cher songs,

with sonny singing along from old footage,

you might be thinking cheesy? yes, but fab.

cher's dancers were ridiculous & nonstop.

also, cyndi lauper opened & she was great!

she did all the music for the new broadway show

kinky boots, which we are dying to see!

61.

we celebrated my dad's 61st birthday

on october 15th.

61- if you know anything about the ny yankees 

you'll know how special the number 61 is.

here's to hoping my dad has as great of a year being 61

as roger maris did in 1961!

my mom got this amazing print showing all the places they've

traveled and lived together. in this pic dad was going through

each place and talking about the experiences.

it was a really perfect night....

all that was missing was our cara & ned.

we also went out my parents & the zimmerman's a 

few days before & celebrated at the marietta fish market.

wow. that place is ridiculous! 

the food is delicious, but the place is so big & busy.

they sang happy birthday to my pa

and brought him a slice of cheesecake!

in honor of administrative professionals day

we had a cotton candy party at work!

up to date and laughing! 

the cotton candy peeps had some awesome flavors:

apple pie, cinnamon bun, birthday cake, carrot cake

and my favorite, key lime pie.

i went ahead and tried all the flavors....

here i am behind that puff enjoying my 5th or 6th serving...

feeling the love.

i can't begin to describe the feelings i've felt during the past 24 hours.

i've been beyond nervous for the past few days/months 

preparing for my licensure exam. i tried to prepare myself

for both outcomes, passing or failing.

the goal of becoming an lcsw, a licensed clinical social worker

has been a dream & goal of mine since my early years as a social

work undergraduate student at western carolina.

i've never felt my heart beat as fast as it did yesterday as i waited

for the instant results to appear after i completed the 170

multiple choice questions in the stale, chilly computer testing room.

once the words PASSED appeared i was overwhelmed with

comfort and relief. the testing center lady was sweet & told me to relax

now that it was all over. she was kind & probably thought i was crazy. 

slim came home with beautiful yellow tulips and the

sweetest card. he always writes the most sincere & loving cards.

my amazingly fabulous cori, along with other colleagues

showered me with office signage & congratulations & email love.

i went to vote and was in & out in less than 10 minutes.

a new hot-spot in the big city of marietta!

as a surprise, we had the menu customize to celebrate 

slim and his HUGE accomplishment.

the baby came to celebrate too!

my folks joined us also!

as a bonus, our fabulous cori joined us & surprised slim

with a delicious cake!

the cake was also very personalized!
