asheville.

my mom & i made a short & sweet quick
trip to asheville a few weeks ago.
we love the southern highlands arts & crafts
guilds fall show, so we made it happen!
we went up on friday afternoon & had
tapas at zambra's & then hit the drum circle.
chocolate fetish is so dangerous & delicious!
i was so happy to see this woman!
this is sandra, my favorite fabric artist!
3 years ago jim & i went to this same show
and bought a large piece from her that hangs in
our office. it states:
something wonderful is about to happen!
she is so cheerful & passionate about her work, truly
inspiring. mom bought a gorgeous sun printed table runner.
on the way home we stopped by a farm
stand and loaded up on apples & corn & peppers.
i just thought these guys were gorgeous.
i surprised slim with these dark chocolate
covered oreos... holy moly!

craft closet

this past weekend slim & i cleaned out our entire house...
no we're not moving just yet, we're getting our wood floors
redone- sanded and polished.
we moved EVERYTHING.
our stuff is in squeezed into the garage & the back-porch & there's
a big load in my parents garage and then a bunch of stuff at my
ma-in-laws garage ready to be sold at her upcoming garage sale.
it was really hard work, but we're so excited for the new floors &
schnazzing up a lot of our space & only bringing back the stuff we really
 love into our "new" house!
in our office (which we're planing to paint the wood panel walls)
there's a big closet that i made into a pretty legit craft closet..
but i just found these ideas on pinterest...
small space craft organization

Craft Closet

Craft Closet - embellishment centre is from Making Memories (can find it at Michael's) as well as the jetmax cubes...my closet is double this size, easily, but her organization is really good here...the rolling cart is from IKEA - not the cheapest, but is wide enough to store 12X12's, which is nice.

trail-a-bike.

sue & owen are a fierce twosome on the road!
checkout the sweet trail-a-bike they got.
they road 11 miles last weekend & did a few laps
around the neighborhood last night!
uncle jimbo took it for a ride too.
matt & sue made these amazing frames with
a cork-board, a dry erase board & a chalk board
for their garage. they made everything from scratch.
slim & i are going over for a tutorial soon!
those buckerts make both gorgeous babies & crafts!

she's in her cover in this pic, but she's super cute- more pics soon.

*thanks to slim for the sewing machine & the classes!

fabric fanatic.

i'm obsessed with creating fabric flowers.
once i learned how- i've been producing non-stop.
*i recently ran out of hot glue gun sticks- so, my production has slowed.
i made these for some wreaths...
this wreath is a pool noodle, cut and covered in burlap
*same burlap used as the table coverings at our wedding!
reduce, reduce, recycle!
slim, my cute assistant.
ahh, fall is almost here.
i bought this wreath at michael's (w/ coupon: $2.98!)
and added my fab flowers for a spicy touch!
moma girl is waiting for me to add some
fabric flowers to her collar necklace.
mr. jack, just as sweet and handsome as ever.
*he politely passed on the flowers- whatever.

she uses magazines.

they say print news and magazines are headed to the grave...
but magazine's are alive & well in the levine-hunt household.
i.love.real.simple.
i can't even explain the feeling i get when a fresh, new & inspiring one arrives each month.
*i try to gift it to someone each year- sue got it last year!

we just started getting g&g after we saw this one
with the avett bro's on the cover.
it's super southern and fun to read.
they also showcase tons of gsp's (mr. jack)
*september's issue is all about southern women- luv it!

i've had a love for bust mag for as long as i can remember.
i feel like it's ms. mag for 3rd wave feminists.
*i knew slim was the one for me when he started gifting me bust subscriptions:)

flea market style only comes out a few times a year- i love it.

i'll forever get ms. because i'm a life member of NOW.

we get SI.
i actually really enjoy reading it every now & then.
it usually has great pics and heroic stories.

somehow i scored a free subscription to glamour.
it's a great fashion, love, health, makes-you-want-shop reader.

the buckert's gifted veg times to us & we love it.
simple and easy recipes and ideas.

puttin it up.

previously i mentioned we were working on a photo-wall,
and while we are still working on it
(meaning the frames and tons of pictures are spread across the dining room table)
my ADD set in and i decided to create a picture/art party in our bedroom.
it's a collection of some of my favorite pieces and photos.
-the large, funky print is from my visit to the mystical city of svat, israel.
-the watercolor tree & city piece was a wedding gift from dani d.
<3luv my dani d.
-the tandem bike frame was a lucky find at target.
-the photos are: a favorite shots from our wedding,
jim & i in key west at hemingway's house (on our honeymoon),
the b&w shot is a throwback to our wild days back at the northside tavern...
-the fabric us letters are from anthropologie
i just need one more lil somethin' up there & it will be complete.
now- back to the picture wall!

dumpster diving.

slim found this badass french road bike circa 1990
in the trash at the neighborhood pool.
good, solid components, spicy paint job
and a psychadelic hot pink handlebar wrap.
sure, it needs some tender lovin care, but what a find!
*thats mr. jack & moma in the back smellin out the new goods.

bye bye brown.

some of you might remember our brown guest room
(previously ben's room, now affectionately known as lea's room)
after about 4 months of hardcore deciding (or laziness) between
antique white, breathless pink & mint green
we finally decided to go with essential gray w/ panda white trim.
*thanks haucks for the inspiration!
the original brown (we sometimes called poop) and the first 3 options.
the finished product with the bad-ass ikea frame we scored for $89.
sometimes it looks gray, sometimes sorta purple.
i love it!
