beck! odelay.

when i was a wee lil lad i would become obsessed with artists for months at a time. in 1996 i remember when odelay came out and beck was all i wanted to listen to. he was on mtv constantly and i would listen to the album over & over again. i was hooked.

i memorized every song: devils haircut, new pollution, hotwax, novacane and sissyneck. my fav was where it's at- in 6th grade i dreamed of being on a highway clean up crew, just for the chance to chill with beck & the boys.

i still think beck is so cool. we saw him at bonnaroo a few years ago and he did a whole puppet show dinner party. i remember it being so sunny and hot and dusty and fun.

i fell in love all over again.

i've been ignoring my stellar music collection lately.

it's just so easy for me to listen to the radio and be content on my longish commute to work. although i have come accustom to listening to sleazy radio talk and top 40 hits, i miss the music that at one time was my greatest passion and love.

i just put on allison krauss & unions station's lonely runs both ways, which is one of my absolute favorite albums.

how have i lived without these sweet, funky rhymes?
