oak ass 50.

i am beyond proud of my main squeeze, slim
for absolutely dominating a 50 mile
mountain bike race this past weekend!
slim traveled to birmingham, alabama with
some buddies and rode two 25 miles loops
in about six and a half hours.
*i hate to steal other people's property-
but this pic was too good to pass up.
maybe i'll buy it?

sewing love.

i attended my 1st sewing class & i am in love.
here's me on my way to whipstitch with
my brother cs 6000i super sweet sewing machine, andy lou!
*yes- i've named my sewing machine andy lou.
she's in her cover in this pic, but she's super cute- more pics soon.

*thanks to slim for the sewing machine & the classes!

the s#!*t slim gets me to do...

slim & i beautified our backyard this weekend.
we layed down 1,000 sq. feet of sod.
here's a few b4 shots of our old muddy & dusty backyard.
we've rocked a great garden for a few years, but the area
doesn't get enough sun, so we decided to take it down.
moma and jack supervised all day long.
we rented a tiller from home depot
*i tilled to- it was a beast!
the sod guy delivered these 2 pallets at 6:30 am...ouch.
after perfecting the ground with some lime, we brought the
new grass in and started laying it....for hours.
hot shot with the fescue!
lea came over & helped for bit- and then passed out.
this was our gift on sunday morning from moma & jack.
maybe a thank you for all the awesome new grass?
you're welcome you ungrateful slobbering fart machines.
all done!
*let's hope the dynamic duo doesn't destroy it.

slim does it again.

jim thinks it's silly that i'm so amazed by his
bad ass handyman-ship.
lea took "big red", her hand-me-down 4runner in for a
oil change and for some funny noises it was making.
firestone told her that she needed a o2 (oxygen senor) replacement.
they gave her a quote around $300- we called a few other places and they
gave quotes from $275-$400+.
jimbo did some investigating, watched a few youtube videos, found the
part on amazon for $80 (half off!) and was ready to go!
this is the o2 sensor.
slim in action under the car!
my dad wanted to get in on the action too.
slim's a cute mechanic- and he works cheap too.
before we knew it- slim was done and the baby's car
was good as new and ready to go!
happy customer and her mechanic!
way to go slim.
total savings: about $300 bucks!
